NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Foreclosure activity in the New Orleans metropolitan area in October was down more than 34 percent when compared with September thanks to a considerable drop in the number of auction notices in the area.
New Orleans CityBusiness reports October figures were also about 49 percent lower than they were in October 2014, according to data released from Irvine, California-based RealtyTrac.
The data shows that 380 homes in the New Orleans area received some sort of foreclosure filing notice in October. Filings include bank-owned repossessions, foreclosure auctions and default notices.
New Orleans now ranks 121st among the 203 U.S. markets tracked.
