NEW ORLEANS – Verizon will present a $21,500 grant to the New Orleans Family Justice Center (NOFJC) to help the organization increase public awareness of domestic violence at an event benefitting the NOFJC on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Ursa Major, 611 O' Keefe Ave., from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The check presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m.
A portion of the grant will be allocated for the organization’s annual Unmasking Domestic Violence Gala on Friday, October 23, from
8 p.m. – midnight at Harrah’s Casino Theatre, of which Verizon is a title sponsor.
Remaining portions of the grant will be allocated to the program’s Halloween festivities for children and Camp Power Girls, a weeklong empowerment for daughters of domestic violence survivors.
NOFJC is a partnership of agencies dedicated to ending family violence, child abuse, sexual assault and stalking through prevention and coordinated response by providing comprehensive client-centered, empowerment services in a single location.
