Dec. 08 – The Monumental Task Committee is holding a press conference to announce the submission of more than 30,000 petitions expressing support for keeping 4 New Orleans monuments standing, 2:00 p.m. The New Orleans City Council is scheduled to vote on removing 4 Confederacy related monuments. Location: In front of the Margaret monument located at the small triangular park at the corner of Prytania, Camp Street and Clio Street close to the Ponchartrain Expressway.
Dec. 08 – New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness (NOAAHH) 30th Anniversary Benefit Concert, 'A Tribute to Allen Toussaint Featuring Paul Simon and Friends,' 8:00 p.m. The concert was originally billed as 'An Evening with Paul Simon and Allen Toussaint', but has been re-imagined as a tribute following Toussaint's death at the age of 77 on Nov. 10.
