Thursday, Jul. 6 – MedStar Washington Hospital Center provides latest update on House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who was readmitted to the Intensive Care Unit yesterday due to new concerns for infection, and whose condition is listed as serious. Rep. Scalise was admitted to the hospital June 14, after being shot by James Thomas Hodgkinson during Republican practice for the annual Congressional Baseball Game. He suffered a rifle shot to the left hip, with the bullet traveling across his pelvis, fracturing bones, injuring internal organs, and causing severe bleeding.
