AUTISM CONFERENCE — An "Independence in Autism" Conference will be held to provide counseling professionals, teachers, school administrators, family members and other caretakers with resources to help foster independent living skills for people with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental challenges, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Location: McNeese State University, Baker Auditorium, Farrar Hall, Lake Charles.

July 31 – Aug. 2. – SATCHMO SUMMERFEST — Satchmo SummerFest will be held through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. Location: Louisiana State Museum's Old U.S. Mint, 400 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans. The opening day parade begins at 10:00 a.m. Location: Washington Artillery Park, 700 Decatur St., New Orleans.
