NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans & Company’s 2018 fall music video, "New Orleans, Louisiana; Essential Jazz and More on Every Corner", received the 2019 Communicator Award of Distinction in the category for Individual-Travel for Online Video. The video was produced in partnership with Brand USA as part of a global entertainment and culture initiative.
According to a press release, the two-minute video was embedded on the Louisiana Music Experience page of www.visittheusa.com with written translations for 14 languages. The partnership also included :15 spots for Spotify and Media iQ distributed in the UK market.
“Music is a big part of the culture here in New Orleans and this video provides international visitors with a small taste of the unique experiences our city has to offer,” said Kim Priez, senior vice president of tourism for New Orleans & Company. “We are pleased that our continued partnership with Brand USA showcases New Orleans in an award winning way.”
Local jazz musician Robin Barnes, The New Orleans Songbird, shared New Orleans music culture with a friend as they journeyed to several of the city’s staple establishments:

- Royal Street and Bourbon Street for Buskers
- Jazz Playhouse, 300 Bourbon Street
- DBA, 618 Frenchmen Street
- Palace Market Frenchmen, 619 Frenchmen Street
Viewers are also treated to the sounds of Mario Abney & The Abney Effect and Walter Wolfman Washington & the Roadmasters throughout the video. The award winning video can be viewed here.
The Communicator Awards honor international leaders in the marketing and communications field. Over 6,000 entries are received annually from companies and agencies of all sizes. The judges of each category are chosen from acclaimed firms throughout the world.
New Orleans was also featured in two other Brand USA winning programs. Winning for the Magazine – Consumer for Marketing/ Promotion category was Visit The USA Inspiration Guide (2019 Global edition). Visit the USA UK Fall 2018 Multi-Channel Campaign also won for the Campaign-Business to Consumer for Integrated Campaign category.
