NEW ORLEANS – On April 3, the James Beard Foundation announced its 2024 Restaurant and Chef Awards nominees in advance of the June 10 James Beard Awards ceremonies. The full list of honorees and nominees can be found on the James Beard Foundation website.

Thank you for all you are doing to set a better standard for our industry and broader food system.”
Dakar NOLA, led by chef Serigne Mbaye will compete in the Best New Restaurant category. The restaurant blends the cuisine of Senegal, where Mbaye grew up, with the flavors of Louisiana. Jewel of the South, helmed by co-founder Chris Hannah, is among the nominees in the Outstanding Bar category. Arvinder Vilkhu of Saffron is a nominee in the Best Chef: South category. And, only an hour away from New Orleans, Vestige in Ocean Springs, Miss., is competing in the Outstanding Restaurant category. The contemporary American restaurant is led by chef Alex Perry and his wife Kumi Omori.
Tickets for the 33rd annual James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards in Chicago go on sale April 9 and can be purchased on the James Beard Foundation website.
