NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Chamber announced Fernanda Previgliano of the Hyatt Regency New Orleans has been selected as its 2016 Ambassador of the Year. This designation is given annually to a member of the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee who has exceeded expectations and surpassed goals throughout the year, Chamber reps said.
“The Chamber has had a tremendous impact on my career and personal life,” Previgliano said. “It has given me the opportunity to interact within the Louisiana market and create amazing relationships. The work and dedication that the Chamber provides to the community is outstanding and truly an inspiration.”
Previgliano graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2011 with a Masters in Hospitality Management. She joined the Hyatt team shortly after as an Operations Manager. From there, she assumed the role of Director of Stewarding until she joined the Sales Team in 2014. Since then she has excelled as a valuable team member, top producer and community leader.
“We established the Ambassador committee in 2011 as a way to enhance the quality of Chamber membership and to develop valuable leadership opportunities for our Ambassadors in the process,” Sandra Lindquist, vice president of operations and membership for the New Orleans Chamber, said. “Fernanda has been an excellent advocate for the Chamber and example of the Ambassador Program’s value.”
The Chamber Ambassador committee is a group of approximately 30 professionals. These individuals act as an extension of the Chamber staff by assisting with retention efforts for the organization’s 1,200+ member businesses. Each month they call existing members to thank them for their membership. They also attend several of the 100+ events held by the Chamber each year to greet and mingle with other Chamber members.
“As a staff of six, we are grateful for the assistance of our Ambassadors,” Ben Johnson, President and CEO of the New Orleans Chamber said. “We thank them for their support throughout 2016. The sky is the limit for the future of this organization thanks to the enthusiasm and support of members like Fernanda.”
