New Orleans Airport Adds More International Flights, Grows To 150 Daily Departures

NEW ORLEANS – Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport has been one of the fastest growing airports in the nation, Michael Hecht, president and CEO of GNO, Inc. said.

British Airways service took off, four times a week, with an international nonstop route from New Orleans to London in March. The airline will soon add a fifth day in October when air travelers will be able to take a direct flight to Heathrow from the Big Easy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Southwest Airlines announced it would add its first direct international flight from MSY to Cancun, Mexico, beginning in April 2018, and Spirit Airlines is also adding four nonstop flights connecting New Orleans with Boston, Massachusetts; Newark, New Jersey; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota; and Tampa, Florida. These new routes will launch in November.
