NEW ORLEANS – The 2017 Gulf Coast Energy Forum, hosted by the Port of New Orleans, will dive into federal efforts to develop a new, national offshore leasing program and its impact on Louisiana.
State Senator Norbert “Norby” Chabert, chairman of the state’s National Resources Committee, will speak at the event on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Several U.S. Interior Department leaders, plus public policy leaders, members of the business community and key stakeholders in Gulf of Mexico energy are expected to attend the forum to discuss the implications of the offshore leasing program on Louisiana’s economy, jobs and energy security.

- Coastal Conservation Association Louisiana Executive Director David Cresson
- Louisiana Association of Business & Industry President and CEO Stephen Waguespack
- Port of New Orleans VP, Commercial – Chief Commercial Officer Bobby Landry
- South Louisiana Economic Council President and CEO Vic Lafont
- Consumer Energy Alliance, Senior Policy Director Brent Greenfield
The meeting will be held on Nov. 7 at The Port of New Orleans administration building auditorium, 1350 Port of New Orleans Place, from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
