New Businesses Debut In Downtown New Orleans

         Sleepy time down South?

Not for 3 new businesses that are hanging up their shingles in downtown New Orleans.

The Calling Card LLC will celebrate its grand opening in the Arts District on White Linen Night, Saturday, August 6, 2016.

The new design and print shop, located at 835 Julia St., will specialize in creating branding materials for all types of businesses. Store reps said The Calling Card is a “one-stop destination” for design, production and printing services including logo creation, business cards, letterheads, envelopes, brochures, newsletters, annual reports, folders, goods, programs, menus, posters, outdoor displays, package design, event theme invitations, specialty items, music packaging and marketing materials.

Store reps said their goal is to help businesses craft their ideal brand image with ease and at a reasonable budget.

Le Creuset opened an outlet store in July at The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk. Known for its bright red enameled cast iron cookware, Le Creuset Outlet sells cookware, bakeware, kitchen tools, dinnerware, glassware and wine tools. There are stainless steel, non-stick, stoneware and silicone products for sale, and all are displayed around the focal point of the store – a fully operational demo kitchen.

Store reps said the popular brand, which dates back to 1925, is “focused on inspiring and empowering people everywhere to make joy through cooking.”

The store is located in Suite 165, right across from Neiman Marcus Last Call and at The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk’s main entrance at Spanish Plaza.

There’s lots of buzz about specialty kitchen boutique Simplee Gourmet opening its second location later this year at The Beacon at South Market District in the Central Business District.

Not only will this epicurean outpost sell high-end cookware from Breville, Le Creuset, MacKenzie-Childs, Nordicware, Rosle, Tervis, Viking and YETI, the store will also host recreational culinary classes.

Store reps said the Covington-based gourmet kitchen boutique and venue is the third retailer to join The Beacon in the South Market District and promises to “cultivate a strong gift registry program and serve as a hub of culinary activity,” in its new 3,000 square foot space.

The South Market District, a mixed-use, transit-oriented development combining luxury apartments with eclectic shops, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues, encompasses a five-block area at the intersection of the Warehouse/Arts District, Central Business District, Medical District, and Sports/Entertainment District, and includes 200,000 square-feet of retail space and 1,300 garage parking spaces.
