ALEXANDRIA, LA (AP) — The old O.K. Allen Bridge over the Red River is coming down on Saturday, and that means the Curtis-Coleman Memorial Bridge next to it will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Department of Transportation and Development said in a news release the temporary closure of the Curtis-Coleman Memorial Bridge is due to the demolition of the main spans of the existing O.K. Allen Bridge.
Motorists should use alternate routes, such as U.S. Highway 167 which has the Purple Heart Memorial Bridge over the Red River.
