Nearly 3,000 U.S. School Counseling Professionals To Convene In New Orleans For 2016 ASCA Annual Conference

NEW ORLEANS – The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) will host its 2016 annual conference at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from Saturday, July 9, through Tuesday, July 12, 2016.

         At this year’s four-day conference, nearly 3,000 school counseling professionals from across the country will learn how to sustain and improve comprehensive school counseling programs within their school districts and share best practices to benefit students and families they support.

         The conference will feature more than 140 educational sessions, multiple networking opportunities, an exhibit hall featuring more than 140 sponsors and exhibitors and special keynote addresses delivered by:

• Lt. Gen. Russel Honore: Successfully lead the swift charge of military relief efforts in Hurricane Katrina-battered New Orleans in 2005.

• Yong Zhoa: The author of “World Class Learners: Educating Create and Entrepreneurial Students” and the presidential chair and director for the Institute for Global and Online Education in the College of Education, University of Oregon.
