ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. – Pat Brister, St. Tammany Parish president, announced a six-month, $956,974, District 7 drainage project started earlier this week in the Erindale Heights Subdivision in the Lacombe area. The installation of subsurface drainage and pavement improvements will enhance drainage in the neighborhood and improve roadways.
Details were shared in a press release.
“This is an investment in our infrastructure in District 7, and when it’s complete, it will give drainage a boost for residents and also make the roads nicer to travel,” said Brister. “In addition, it will relieve the drainage burden on surrounding neighborhoods.”
“This was something residents needed, and that is why I reserved funds each year from my District Capital funding to make sure it was brought to this point,” said Jake Groby, St. Tammany Parish Councilman District 7. “It will offer a great benefit to many residents in my district and it is good to see it begin.”
The project is expected to wrap up in late summer of 2019 barring any unforeseen interruptions to the schedule. Residents are asked to prepare for delays and to expect temporary road closures from time to time when cross drain pipes are installed. Alternate routes will be available.
The entire project, including an already completed drainage study, recent surveying work, and upcoming construction, is expected to be complete at a cost of $956,974.00.
