National Center For Campus Public Safety Calls On Fisher & Phillips’ Schneider

NEW ORLEANS – Fisher & Phillips LLP announced today that Scott Schneider has been selected by the National Center for Campus Public Safety (NCCPS) to help develop and deliver a Trauma-Informed Sexual Assault Investigation and Adjudication training program for campus officials.

         Schneider, a partner with the New Orleans office and chair of the Higher Education Practice Group, was selected to provide his insights on sexual and gender violence investigations, Title IX, and the Clery Act.

         “It is an honor to be recognized by the NCCPS, and I am excited to have this opportunity to contribute my knowledge and experience to such an important cause,” said Schneider.

         The training program, expected to start public deliveries in early 2016, will provide college and university administrators involved in investigating and adjudicating sexual misconduct cases information and resources necessary to conduct trauma-informed investigations in line with evolving practices.

         Charged with developing the training program by the White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault in the Not Alone report, the NCCPS is working with nationally recognized subject matter specialists in the fields of sexual and gender violence investigations, Title IX, the Clery Act, victim's advocacy, student conduct and psychology, to develop and deliver the curriculum of this critical training program. This program also has the backing of the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights and the Department of Justice.
