National Basketball Retired Players Association To Celebrate 25th Anniversary In New Orleans For 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA), the official Association comprised of NBA, ABA, WNBA and Harlem Globetrotters, will mark its 25th anniversary at the NBRPA’s 18th annual NBA All-Star weekend celebration in New Orleans, Feb. 17-19.

The All-Star Weekend has grown into an incredible mid-season fan opportunity and sporting event featuring the league’s top rising players, NBRPA reps said. This year’s event will honor the 25th anniversary of the founding of the NBRPA, which helped former players gain important pension, healthcare and other benefits.

"I look forward to once again welcoming the NBRPA family to New Orleans for All-Star Weekend 2017,” said NBRPA President & CEO Arnie D. Fielkow. "The City of New Orleans will always hold a special place in my and our organization’s heart and we look forward to hosting a number of fun and enjoyable events.”
