NEW ORLEANS – Renowned criminal defense attorney and local City Councilmember Jason Williams has collaborated with Baton Rouge-based Unglesby Law Firm to form the litigation firm Unglesby + Williams.

The new firm combines the partners’ extensive trial experience, winning high-profile, high-stakes cases, with diverse leadership and a commitment to the community.

Both Williams and the father-son team of Lewis and Lance Unglesby have been locally, regionally and nationally recognized in the field for their unique trial tactics, winning highly publicized, major cases that have resulted in more than 20 multi-million dollar jury verdicts.

“My associates and I have built a strong, professional practice over the years, and I’m proud to now be partnering with such a respected team as the Unglesbys,” said Williams, partner at the firm. “By combining our strengths, we’ll offer maximum value to our clients and other attorneys who are looking for a partner to help take their case to trial—which is where we thrive.”

Unglesby + Williams will represent cases that are likely going to a jury trial. The firm’s major practice areas include cases of wrongful death, environmental contamination, serious or catastrophic personal injury, product defects, class action, and criminal defense.

“We collaborated as a firm because we saw an opportunity to serve the New Orleans region as it continues on a path of economic growth,” said Lance Unglesby, partner at the firm and a former New Orleans public defender. “We also wanted to partner because we’re friends, and we wanted to work with a trusted team that’s smart and focused on trial strength.”
