N.O. Chamber Hosted Washington Mardi Gras Event

NEW ORLEANS – More than 300 patrons and elected officials connected at the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Washington Mardi Gras Welcome Reception on Jan. 25 at the Churchill Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Attendees at the event, which was presented by the Downtown Development District, included U.S. Rep. Troy Carter, New Orleans City Councilmember Oliver Thomas, the Consulate General of France, and many Louisiana business and association leaders. New Orleans Council President Helena Moreno served as the honorary chairperson. Additional sponsors included Antares Technology Solutions, Chalmette Refining – PBF Energy, Entergy New Orleans and Ochsner Health.

Established in 1943 by the Louisiana State Society, Washington Mardi Gras is an opportunity to celebrate Louisiana heritage and bring Carnival to the nation’s capital. The event includes meetings, events and receptions.
