Musicians Operating New Concert Hall In Louisiana

RACELAND, La. (AP) — Musicians are running a new concert hall in Louisiana.

The Daily Comet reports that's helping it attract big name acts like Marc Broussard and Wayne Toups to Raceland, about 32 miles southwest of New Orleans.

Manager Brennon Trant says that before opening Venue 182 , they added about $30,000 worth of renovations, including a new stage, to the former Cajun Country Event Center. They also added bars in various places and big flat-screen TVs and a projector for LSU and Saints football games.

Trant is vocalist for the alternative rock group Calling Home, and has been a full-time musician for about four years. He says he and his business partners want to bring in all kinds of music.
