Morris Jeff Community School To Host 8th Annual Community Gala, Auction

NEW ORLEANS – The 8th Annual Community Gala and Auction to benefit Morris Jeff Community School (MJCS) will take place Thursday, October 6, 2016, at 211 S. Lopez St., with a 6:00 p.m. Patron Party and a 7:00 p.m. Gala.

         The Gala will take place on MJCS's new campus with an internationally-inspired evening of student art and exhibits, fare crafted by world-renowned chefs and classic New Orleans entertainment. All proceeds benefit Morris Jeff Community School, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, that offers an unparalleled education enriched by foreign language, visual and cultural arts, and music instruction, school reps said.

         Patron Party tickets are $125 with food and beverage by Mondo and Winebow. General admission tickets are $60 per person, inclusive of music, food, drinks and silent auction.

         MJCS opened in the fall of 2010 as a Type 5 open-access public charter school and serves 740 students in grades Pre-K – 8 at its new campus in Mid-City and will grow to a full Pre-K through 12th grade school.  It is the only elementary school in Louisiana that is authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
