Monumental Task Committee Looking For $50K Via GoFundMe Campaign Relaunch

NEW ORLEANS – The Monumental Task Committee, Inc. wants to keep New Orleans’ monuments standing, and is looking for $50,000 in donations via a relaunch of its GoFundMe campaign.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to thank our members and fellow monument supporters for [their] support in 2016,” said Pierre McGraw, president of the Monumental Task Committee, Inc. “Our legal team has done an excellent job, but litigation is expensive and we've only been able to pay a fraction of the costs so far. [Now] we enter the next phase in our effort to keep the monuments standing by expanding our campaign to supporters of preservation throughout the state and nation. We are relaunching our GoFundMe page to get our message out.”

McGraw said that message is monuments in New Orleans are under attack by forces who wish to rewrite history and erase the contributions of Louisiana's Veterans.
