NEW ORLEANS – For the first time, pastry chef Justin Burke-Samson, creator of Trademark Tarts and Modern Gramma, is bringing his Modern Gramma dessert pop-up to New Orleans in September for a four-course, bourbon-infused dessert tasting, as well as a second surprise dessert pop-up.
As touted recently by Travel + Leisure, “these eclectic pop-up dessert tastings… showcase playfully updated grandmother-style goodies.”
Emeril’s New Orleans pastry chef Jeremy Fogg, who recently won Louisiana’s “Best Pastry Chef 2015” by the American Culinary Federation for Emeril’s Banana Coffee Mousse Cake, will host Burke-Samson for the one-time rooftop event, on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at the National Rice Mill Lofts Roof deck at 522 Montegut St.
They have also invited chef Amy Lemon (Emeril’s Delmonico, NOLA) and chef Eric Perelli (Brennan’s) to join and showcase their own original recipes, all chefs inspired by their grandmothers and infused with Bourbon Street spirit for a uniquely New Orleans event.
The event will offer an optional wine pairings, and guests will be welcomed with a boozy popsicle amuse-bouche from Lick Our Pops.
On Friday, September 11, at 8:30 p.m., Burke-Samson and Fogg will pop-up once again in a surprise location, serving up sweet treats ranging from $1.50 to $5.
