METAIRIE, LA – Geocent, a leading provider of information technology, systems engineering, geospatial engineering, software and technical support services, to the military, federal government and numerous commercial sectors, was honored with the 2015 EIGS/MBA Member of the Year Award for the Southern Mississippi/ Louisiana Region.
Magnolia Business Alliance (MBA) is a 501(C)6 not-for-profit corporation acting as a support organization and forum for the advancement of small and medium businesses (SMB) in the southeastern United States region. The Enterprise for Innovative Geospatial Solutions (EIGS), a program of the MBA, nurtures and supports the growth of the geospatial technology by coordinating the interaction among the high-tech geospatial companies, university research programs, state agencies, and other related organizations in order to grow the geospatial businesses in our regional cluster into a world-class industry group.
As a strong member in the EIGS group, Geocent reps say they consistently add value to several organizations and support programs with innovations in geospatial technology. Geocent supports the Naval Integrated Tactical Environment System-Next Generation program by using geospatial technologies to develop web-based data integration and visualization, which provides Naval warfighters with decision support tools that analyze weather and ocean data in support of mission objectives. In addition, Geocent supports Statebook International with the development of an interactive Geographic Information System (GIS) map for communities to assess various criteria and filter the results to a map for comparison and analysis of events and community actions.
