COVINGTON, LA. – Mellow Mushroom, the Southern-born pizza franchise known for its creative flair, will host the 7th annual Mellow Brew Fest in Covington.
The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the Mellow Mushroom located at 1645 U.S. Highway 190.
The event features a benefit concert, a “Home Brewers Competition” with a portion of the proceeds supporting The St. Tammany Humane Society, food from pizza to crawfish, beer samples from homebrews to commercial, and music by Christian Serpas and Ghost Town.
The beer garden will feature a sampling of over 60 beers from across Louisiana and the surrounding areas.
“This is a worthy event that will be a pizza lovers feast and a beer enthusiasts sampling sensation,” said Billy Maisano, Operations Manager of Mellow Mushroom. “The music for this celebration will be outstanding. We are anticipating a big crowd with big appetites.”
The festival was created in 2009 in memory of legendary Northshore homebrewer, Larry Hartzog, one of the founding members of the Mystic Krewe of Brew homebrew club.
Tickets for the event can be bought in advance at Mellow Mushroom in Covington for $20 or at the gate for $25.
