NEW ORLEANS – The Center for Entrepreneurship & Community Development (CECD) at Loyola University will host a “Meet The Entrepreneur” Event for Dr. Tarun Jolly of Renaissance RX, Loyola’s Local Innovation guest speaker, on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Loyola University’s Miller Hall 114 at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
A free networking reception will follow with cocktail refreshment.

New Orleans entrepreneur Dr. Tarun Jolly will discuss what entrepreneurship means in New Orleans as well as share his personal story and experience founding a number of local companies, including genetic pharmaceuticals company Renaissance RX, which runs DNA and toxicology tests to help doctors customize prescriptions for their patients.
According to NOLA.com, Renaissance RX has been "heralded by Mayor Mitch Landrieu and local business leaders as a potential leader in the city's burgeoning biotech scene."
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Community Development at Loyola University New Orleans identifies, trains, and develops emerging entrepreneurial talent to fill ‘innovation-ready’ workforce gaps in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through targeted curricular and extracurricular programming that leverages experiential and engaged learning, the CECD is preparing the next generation of leaders to build innovative and scalable new enterprises.
Opportunities include Accelerate NOLA Internship which are open to all Loyola students.
Through Loyola’s exclusive Accelerate NOLA Internship, Loyola students gain real-world experience and work with the most innovative organizations helping local entrepreneurs.
Selected students will meet inspiring entrepreneurs, network with local business leaders, and help build New Orleans into a major entrepreneurial hub for the South. The Accelerate NOLA internship interviews take place tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23.
Partners that selected students will work with include:
• Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses investment supports entrepreneurs in creating jobs and economic opportunity, providing greater access to education, capital and business support services.
• Idea Village was the first organization solely dedicated to entrepreneurship in New Orleans and has been integral in finding, supporting, and retaining local entrepreneurs.
• Propeller helps launch social and environmental ventures to address the region’s biggest challenges.
• 4.0 Schools knows that New Orleans schools can be done better, and works with entrepreneurs, educators, and families to make that vision come true.
• The New Orleans Bio Innovation Center (NOBIC) is building the regional economy by supporting life science entrepreneurs, improving health, and conserving the environment through one innovation at a time.
• The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) offers consulting, workshops, seminars and business resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
