McKinsey Social Initiative CEO To Address 2016 Xavier Grads

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The chief executive of McKinsey Social Initiative, a nonprofit group that implements programs bringing stakeholders together to address global and social challenges, will deliver the commencement address at Xavier University's spring graduation.

         The university, in a news release Wednesday, announced that Dr. Helene D. Gayle will address some 540 undergraduate, graduate and pre-professional students, on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in the university's Convocation Center.

         Gayle will also be awarded an honorary degree, along with three other honorary degree recipients: pathologist Dr. Bennet Ifeakandu Omalu, educator Dr. Gilda A. Barabino and businessman Michael Rue.

         Xavier's president, Reynold Verret, says Gayle is a humanitarian as well as an expert on global development and public health issues. He says they're pleased she accepted the invitation to address the graduates.
