NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Carlos Monje, Jr., U.S. DOT Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy, Justin Augustine, Vice President of Transdev in service to the RTA, New Orleans City Council Members, Orleans Parish Legislative Delegation and RTA Board of Commissioners, were scheduled to celebrate the $10 million in grant funding recently awarded to develop a new ferry terminal at the end of Canal Street through the Obama’s Administration’s Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery VII (TIGER) competitive grant program, at Woldenberg Park, overlooking the Canal Street Ferry Terminal, at 1 Canal St., in New Orleans, at 9:00 a.m.
The New Orleans Canal Street Ferry Terminal project will further anchor the redevelopment and revitalization along the Mississippi River as part of the city’s 300th anniversary in 2018.
