Mayor Landrieu To Welcome Francophone Mayors To New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS — Mayor Landrieu will welcome leaders of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (A.I.M.F.) today at Gallier Hall, 545 St. Charles Ave., at 1:30 p.m.

         The Francophone Mayors are visiting New Orleans as part of their annual conference that brings together French-speaking mayors from the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa to discuss major initiatives of the A.I.M.F. including the development of tourism in Francophone cities and the contribution of the French language in political, economic and artistic development.

         Mayor Anne Hidalgo, City of Paris, France, and President of A.I.M.F., will be in attendance.
