Mayor Landrieu, JPMorgan To Announce Economic Opportunity Grant Award

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join JPMorgan Chase & Co’s CEO Jamie Dimon and Bloomberg Philanthropies to announce a grant that will expand young people’s access to economic opportunity in New Orleans, at Warren Easton Charter High School, 3019 Canal St., at 2:00 p.m.

The grant is designed to dramatically increase the number of young people obtaining the necessary education in the city’s public school and training credentials that will enable them to obtain well-paying, high-demand jobs.

The grant is part of the bank’s $75 million, five-year initiative, New Skills for Youth, which started in January to strengthen career and technical education and create pathways to economic success.
