NEW ORLEANS – Mayor Mitch Landrieu issued the following statement in support of law enforcement – local and national.
“I am appalled by the recent shootings and killings of police officers in Louisiana and around the country. Each one of these incidents is a heartbreaking and senseless act of violence, and this culture of violence must be stopped. My deepest sympathies and prayers are with the victims and families of those officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Law enforcement put their lives on the line each day to protect and ensure public safety. We owe these brave men and women our utmost gratitude and deep respect for their courage and willingness to protect the communities in which they serve.”
