NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans Mayor-elect LaToya Cantrell and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry have reached an agreement allowing Landry's investigators to view Cantrell's personal bank records.
New Orleans news outlets report that, on Tuesday, an agreement was reached in which Cantrell will allow the records to be reviewed in the office of her attorney.
Landry was seeking documents as part of an inquiry into charges Cantrell, who is currently a City Council member, made to her City Council-issued credit card. Cantrell's opponent in last year's election alleged that Cantrell had used the card for personal expenses. That led to an anonymous criminal complaint being filed against her.
Cantrell's attorney had agreed to production of her city credit card records, but had opposed turning over her personal records.
Cantrell takes office May 7.
