NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced the new application portal for the City’s Boards and Commissions. Geared toward being open, transparent and inclusive, the website allows residents to submit online applications for appointment to many New Orleans boards and commissions.
“We are committed to maintaining an open, honest and inclusive government. I believe every person in New Orleans can serve, and I am committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity,” said Mayor LaToya Cantrell. “Recognizing our boards and commissions members are a valued part of the City of New Orleans, I encourage every resident to apply. Together, we will move this City forward."
Residents interested in serving on one of the City’s boards and commissions should visit nola.gov/boards. Along with general background information, interested residents must submit a resume, provide references and choose up to five boards or commissions of interest.

There are more than 100 public boards and commissions operating in the City of New Orleans. Formed through state law, Louisiana Constitution, City’s Home Rule Charter, Ordinance, or Mayoral Executive Order, these boards and commissions address a wide range of issues. These issues include public safety, education, recreation, housing, economic development, historic preservation, planning, and management of public assets, as well as other matters that affect the quality of life in our city.
