M S Benbow Names Compton Telecom, Technology Manager

METAIRIE, LA—M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) has named Shelley Compton, PMP, manager of the 39-year-old engineering firm’s growing Telecommunications and Technology division.

         Compton has more than 20 years of diverse operations, engineering and executive management experience within the defense, industrial, commercial and service industries. She will report to MSB Telecommunications and Technology Director Kenneth Wright.

         Prior to joining MSB, Compton held various leadership positions at Textron Marine & Land Systems in Slidell, including most recently as the business line vice president of LifeCycle Support, responsible for overseeing customer program execution, design activities and development of talent.

         “Shelley brings extensive project management and technical experience to our Telecom and Technology division at a very exciting time in our 39 years in the industry,” Wright said.

         Compton previously held technical leadership positions at companies including Mechanical Equipment Company, American Airlines, Philips Electronics and Texas Instruments Defense Systems, and has held Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and ISO9001 Lead Auditor certifications. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.

         MSB Telecom and Technology oversees design engineering, design build and system management of large-scale cellular, in-building distributed antenna system (DAS), public safety and WiFi networks for airports, professional arenas, convention centers, municipalities, universities and college sports complexes. The division provides specialized engineering and project management services for infrastructure upgrades and new projects incorporating technologies that include cellular, WiFi, bluetooth, location-based services, microwave, satellite, two-way radio, Public Safety radio, fiber optic and copper technologies, company reps said.
