NEW ORLEANS — The ride share app, Lyft, has announced that in recognition of the upcoming Pride celebrations, it will provide discounts on rides, giveaways, and more.
Lyft will offer discounted rides to select events, 50 percent off or up to $5 on one ride (quantity limited), including the French Quarter Pride Parade on Saturday, June 9.
Lyft will also participate in the French Quarter Pride Parade with a “kiss cam” vehicle, encouraging all parade attendees to share their love. The Lyft “krewe” can be seen during the parade and will hand out premium merchandise like lapel pins, tote bags, and hand fans to keep cool.
"As a lifelong resident of New Orleans, I was of course passionate about being a partner of New Orleans Pride. ‘Being yourself’ is one of Lyft's core values, and there are few events that represent that value better than the Pride festivities across the country. Pride is one of the largest special events in New Orleans, and we're thrilled to be involved," said Jessica Inman, market manager for Lyft in Louisiana.
