NEW ORLEANS – Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard has welcomed veteran and award-winning attorney Ashley Belleau as a shareholder in the firm’s New Orleans headquarters. Belleau’s primary areas of practice include bankruptcy, corporate and commercial law, estate planning, professional liability and litigation.
A former entrepreneur, Belleau works with business owners through the corporate lifecycle from launch, growth and development, and dissolution when necessary. She also mediates and arbitrates business disputes. She is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and also served as a mediator for the Louisiana Department of Insurance Hurricane Mediation Program.
Among her numerous honors over the years, Belleau has been named to Louisiana Super Lawyers and New Orleans CityBusiness Women of the Year Class of 2012. Belleau is a member of the Federal Bar Association, serving as its delegate to the American Bar Association. Previously, she served as the association’s national president from 2010-11. She was included in the 2011 inaugural edition of the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers and selected for subsequent editions.
A native of Mobile, AL, Belleau earned a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University’s Newcomb College and a juris doctorate from the Tulane University School of Law. She served as a clerk for the late Judge Henry A. Mentz Jr. in the Eastern District of Louisiana and received the Eastern District of Louisiana Distinguished Service Award.
