CLEMSON, S.C. — Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard is pleased to announce that shareholder Miles Thomas has been named to the Clemson Alumni Association board of directors. His three-year term began July 1.
The Clemson Alumni Association is an open-membership, nonprofit organization. Since its inception in 1896, the program has connected members of the Clemson family, inspiring pride, celebrating achievement, providing service and strengthening relationships.
The alumni board consists of 24 members and is the governing body for the Clemson Alumni Association. Primary responsibilities of the board include general oversight of the programs and initiatives of the association, financial audit and review, the establishment of governing policies and strategic planning.
A South Carolina native, Thomas graduated from Clemson in 2000 with a degree in speech and communication before receiving his Juris Doctor in law from the University of Tennessee in 2004.
At Clemson, Thomas was a member of the speech team, IPTAY Collegiate Club and Minority Focus Committee, Tigers Who Care and Kappa Alpha Order. He served as the youth director at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, and he was a Clemson Young Alumni representative and member of the Greenville Young Alumni Council. After moving from South Carolina, Thomas was founder and president of the New Orleans Clemson Club.
Thomas’ practice focuses on admiralty and maritime law, as well as general litigation. He is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Louisiana and South Carolina and the U.S. Supreme Court. Thomas is a member of the New Orleans, Louisiana State, South Carolina State and American Bar Associations. Thomas has been selected as a Louisiana Super Lawyers Rising Star for the past four years.
