NEW ORLEANS – More than 500 tourism professionals from around the state will gather in New Orleans for the annual Lt. Governor’s Tourism Summit from Tuesday, Aug. 22 – Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Sheraton New Orleans, 500 Canal St.
Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser will headline the conference with a state of the industry address Thursday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. His address will include the announcement of the REEL Louisiana video contest winners, which asked filmmakers to show, in 90 seconds or less, what makes Louisiana such a unique place. Nungesser will also kick off a rebranding initiative for Louisiana tourism and encourage feedback from the industry.

Throughout the three-day conference, participants will attend educational breakout sessions and workshops addressing the latest industry trends. The Tourism Summit will also feature a marketing update from Louisiana Office of Tourism Assistant Secretary Kyle Edmiston.
