NEW ORLEANS – Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honoré (Retired), often referred to as "the hero of Hurricane Katrina," will be the keynote speaker at the annual meeting of the Louisiana chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization in New Orleans on Friday, August 21, 2015, in the Theater of Harrah's Casino, at 7:30 p.m.
Honoré's presentation to the Entrepreneurs' Organization is entitled “The New Normal: Leadership and Preparedness in the 21st Century.”
Honoré, who retired from the U.S. Army in 2008 following 37 years of service, is widely recognized for his role in helping to restore order to New Orleans in the hectic period following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. A Louisiana native and graduate of Southern University, Honoré's Army career featured a wide range of assignments in the United States and other nations. Many of these assignments focused on defense support to civil authorities and homeland defense. He headed the U.S. defense department's response to disasters at international locations ranging from Venezuela to Mozambique.
Since his retirement from the Army, Honoré has traveled widely making presentations and involving himself in a variety of issues, especially those relating to protection of the environment.

Adam Bermudez, president of the Louisiana chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization. "Our members, who include many of our state's leading young entrepreneurs, are very much looking forward to the general's presentation."
During its annual meeting, the Entrepreneurs' Organization will also present its Marshall Kline Award to a member who has distinguished him or herself through the qualities the organization esteems. The award is named in honor of the late Marshall Kline, who was active in EO and was president and CEO of Mandeville based iBusiness.com.
The Entrepreneurs' Organization is a worldwide networking group with some 11,000 members in 150 chapters in 48 countries. EO is the world's only peer-to-peer network exclusively for entrepreneurs.
