NEW ORLEANS – Lakeview Regional Medical Center announced the addition of Shana Bounds, MHA, RN, CNOR, as the new Manager of Surgical Services.
Most recently, Bounds was the Nurse Supervisor of Orthopedic Surgery at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She has also served as the Operating Room Circulator and Team Leader of Plastics, GYN, and Orthopedic Surgery and Educator for Operating Room Staff at Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital in Hammond, LA, and the Operating Room Circulator for Orthopedic Surgery Pre-OP/Same Day Surgery also at Our Lady of the Lake.
“Shana brings with her a wealth of knowledge, and we are thrilled that she will use her skills to improve our service lines at Lakeview Regional,” states Patrick Moore, Administrative Director Surgery Cardiac. “She has garnered much experience advocating for the excellence in pre-operative practice and care through her local, state, and national level work with the Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses.”
Bounds currently serves on the Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) National Task Force for Developing Volunteer Leaders, and previously on the National Membership Committee and Task Force of Young Peri-Operative Professionals. She has served on the AORN Board of Directors, and as President, President Elect, Secretary, and Ways & Means Chair. Bounds has also been honored as a Delegate at the AORN Surgical Conference & Expo every year since 2011.
Bounds holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. She currently resides in Walker, LA, where she is actively involved in outreach activities at Christ Community Church (Denham Springs) and coordinates the yearly “Toys for Children” Christmas drive. She also enjoys participating in the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival Competition each year.
