COVINGTON, LA (AP) — The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at a free concert in Covington's Bogue Falaya Park on Saturday, May 9.
The 17th annual Swing in the Pines, which is being staged by the city of Covington, will begin at 6:00 p.m.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune’s Kim Chatelain reports this year's concert, sponsored by Chevron and Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank, will feature the full orchestra under the direction of guest conductor Aram Demirjian.
In an effort to foster music appreciation among youngsters, the LPO will host a student "Meet and Greet" prior to the performance at the park entrance.
Concert goers are being asked to help support the Covington Food Bank with a donation of non-perishable food.
