Loyola University New Orleans Welcomes New Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs

NEW ORLEANS – Loyola University New Orleans president Tania Tetlow, J.D., announced that Dr. Sarah Kelly has accepted the role of senior vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. In this role, Kelly will report directly to the president and provide clear leadership over all aspects of student life at Loyola, from recruitment and admissions through graduation. Additional details were shared in a press release.

“I am very happy to announce that Dr. Sarah Kelly has accepted the role of senior vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs,” Tetlow said. “In combining oversight over multiple areas, we were looking for someone with a rare combination of experience. We needed demonstrated success in admissions and financial aid strategy and someone who understood how to effectively market a university.

"We also needed the experience necessary to oversee Student Affairs, to make sure what we promise on the front end in admissions is what we deliver to our students," added Tetlow. "We found exactly the person we needed in Sarah Kelly, who has deep experience in all three areas, understands Jesuit mission, and has shown real strategic genius in enrollment.”

For the last five years, Kelly has served as the vice president for Enrollment and Marketing at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, where she oversees undergraduate and graduate admission, student financial services and marketing and communications. Under her leadership, Saint Michael’s strengthened the academic profile of its entering cohort, expanded the college’s geographic reach and grew revenue.

Before that, Kelly led a recruitment program at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Her team’s work included doubling the number of applications, increasing diversity by 16-percent, and enrolling the university’s largest class in close to a decade. And before that, Kelly served as the associate vice president of Student Affairs at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio for almost ten years.

Kelly earned her bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and English literature from Miami University in Ohio, where she also completed a master of arts in teaching.  She earned her Ph.D. in higher education administration from Ohio University and her dissertation, "Jesuit from the Inside Out: Faculty, Staff and Administrators’ Perceptions of the Jesuit Brand of Higher Education", was one of the first of its kind to examine specific brands of higher education.
