The Corps’ Mississippi Valley New Orleans (MVN) advertised a dredge contract on Thursday, December 17, 2015 and received no bids from the dredging industry. In accordance to the established no bid response protocol the MVN filed a Yellow Flag Request and the hopper dredge contractors were able to respond with an awardable hopper dredge contract. The industry hopper NEWPORT is expected to begin dredging in the area of Southwest Pass on Thursday, December 24, 2015.
