Louisiana's Health Department Puts 2001-2010 Data Online

BATON ROUGE (AP) — The Louisiana health department has a new website where people can look at tables, graphs and maps with health, environmental, population and other information.

For instance, "health outcomes" covers nine conditions including adult obesity, asthma, cancer, diabetes and heart attacks, plus occupational health. You can see parish-by-parish maps for some, only statewide figures for others.

Environmental data, reported pesticide exposures and population data, such as total populations, education, access to grocery stores or health care, and language, also is available.

The years for which information is available varies. Some cover the years 2001 through 2010, with each year individually or a range of years available. Access to groceries covers only 2012. A report on pesticide exposures covers the years 2006 through 2011, but not individual years.
