NEW ORLEANS – Walmart has announced that it will be offering local employees to receive one or more of the following options in their upcoming paycheck: a one-time cash bonus up to $1,000 or a Q4 bonus based on their store's sales performances.
Earlier this year, the retail giant released a statement claiming its commitment to its employees. Walmart said it was going to expand its paid leave policy to provide full-time hourly associates with 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and six weeks of paid parental leave. The paid parental leave will also apply to salaried employees who adopt a child. In addition, Walmart said they began offering associates a $5,000 credit toward the cost of adoption.
The bonus options will be given out today to local Walmart employees. The company claims it is the largest employer in New Orleans.
