Louisiana Children's Nuseum Draws Nore People Than Expected

 

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A children's museum in Louisiana's capital city has attracted more people than expected for its first year in operation.

More than 200,000 children, parents and educators have visited the Knock Knock Children's Museum since it opened last year, making it one of Baton Rouge's most-visited attractions.

The Advocate reports that the museum's executive director, Peter Olson, expected 189,000 visitors for the first year.

Fundraising and planning for the museum took more than a decade. But once the museum became a reality, Baton Rouge residents and visitors have embraced it.

Museum leaders say they hope during their second year to include more opportunities for all children, especially those from impoverished communities and those who have learning disabilities.
