NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Children’s Museum will open its big blue doors for its 19th annual CHAIRish the Children fundraising event, “Revel on the River,” Saturday, Aug. 26, at 420 Julia St.
“This year, CHAIRish the Children celebrates the influence of the Mighty Mississippi River on our region and city,” says Julia Bland, CEO of the Louisiana Children’s Museum. “Proceeds from the annual event support educational programs and exhibits that engage the potential of our community’s most precious asset – our children.”
Partygoers will enjoy a fun and festive evening featuring gourmet cuisine and spirits, silent and live auctions, whimsical, one-of-a-kind chairs, entertainment by the Jenn Howard Band and more.
The exclusive CHAIRish the Children Patron Party will be held from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and feature delectable hors d’oeuvres compliments of Pêche Seafood Grill and signature cocktails that include the “Whiskey River” and “River Breeze,” organizers said.
The fun continues with CHAIRish the Children general admission at 8:00 p.m. with gourmet food from favorite New Orleans restaurants, cocktails, live music and complimentary keepsake photos. The silent and live auctions will feature an array of items and packages including: works of art, jewelry, vacations, fun family outings, shopping, and one-of-a-kind chairs designed by Dr. Bob, Becky Fos, E. Lee Jahncke, Mia Kaplan, Shannon Kelley, Terrance Osborne, Pauline Patterson, Nadia Ramadan, Simon of New Orleans, and Amanda Talley.
Bidding on select auction items will begin on Aug. 14 at 501auctions.com/LCMChairish.
Guests can also enter the $2,000 Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry shopping spree raffle. Raffle tickets are $20 each or three raffle tickets for $50.
