MISSION
Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM) envisions a world where communities value children, strengthen and support families, and improve life outcomes by ensuring access to safe, innovative, learning, and play experiences.
ABOUT
Since opening its doors in 1986, LCM has been the premier resource in the state for young children and their families. Through play, shared explorations, and in dialogue with adults, LCM connects children to each other, adults, their environments, and communities. The organization recommitted to its mission by opening an 8.5-acre state of the art LEED Gold certified campus in 2019 to further its capabilities and to promote a sustainable future.
LCM responds to the enormous challenges limiting opportunities for too many community children. Its learning framework, influenced by the educational principles of Reggio Emilia, seeks to engage in dialogue with parents and caregivers to support their role in children’s learning to change long-term life outcomes.
DONATIONS
Every investment of the LCM mission and vision is an investment in Louisiana children. LCM invites corporate partners and businesses to help further its mission through sponsorships of programs, exhibits, and special events such as its annual fundraising gala, CHAIRish The Children (September 24, 2022) or the cultural family event, Children’s World’s Fair (March 18, 2023).
Host your next meeting or company event with the scenic backdrop of City Park. Leave your personal legacy with a customized glass bead along the front porch to be seen and enjoyed by all guests. A direct contribution to the impact areas of Early Learning and Literacy, Sustainability, Health and Wellness, and Arts and Culture supports the exhibits and daily programming that engages each child’s potential.
