Louisiana Casino Revenue Up 12.8 Percent Over Last Year

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Louisiana's 15 riverboats, four racetrack slots casinos and Harrah's brought in $206.1 million in September, a 12.8 percent increase over the September 2014 total of $182.8 million.

         The casino revenue figures were released Thursday by state police

         The New Orleans casino market saw its winnings increase by 4 percent in September, thanks to increased winnings at the local riverboat casinos and Harrah's.

         Baton Rouge's three riverboat casinos brought in 2.8 percent more in September than they did the year before.

         Lake Charles saw its winnings go up by 38.3 percent, thanks to the addition of the Golden Nugget.

         Shreveport-Bossier City was up 1.1 percent, with the six riverboat casinos and the slots at Harrah's racetrack bringing in $56.1 million.
