BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Board of Regents Commissioner Joseph C. Rallo released the following statement regarding the end of the Special Legislative Session:
“We are appreciative of both the executive and legislative branches for their efforts to address the budget deficit for the state and its effect on higher education. We knew that tough decisions were going to have to be made during this special session. Today’s actions have far-reaching implications on higher education’s budget for both the current and upcoming fiscal year. During the upcoming regular session, we will remain focused on seeking long-term solutions which will provide significant and sustainable sources of funding for higher education.”
