BATON ROUGE (AP) — The Food Network is looking for its next celebrity chef, and Baton Rouge food blogger Jay Ducote will be among the hopefuls competing on the 11th season of Food Network Star.
The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report reports Ducote established himself on the local foodie scene five years ago with his BiteandBooze.com blog. The network announced the 12 contestants Wednesday for the show's new season, which airs June 7. Judges will include Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay.
Ducote, who also recently launched his own barbecue sauce, is the only contestant from Louisiana or the Deep South. He has previously appeared on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen and on Master Chef.
The winner of Food Network Star will be determined in the show's season finale in August.
